Karyn Romano

President

Karyn Romano has 18 years experience in government, public affairs and politics. She is known throughout the region for her ability to build and maintain strong, working relationships with elected officials, business leaders, and government agencies. Karyn’s experience spans local and state governments as well as the private and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to launching Metro Strategies, Karyn served as transportation director for the Metropolitan Planning Council where she managed a business coalition with over 250 members. Her duties included regional and state transportation policy, legislative strategy and issue advocacy.

Karyn’s background and passion working with local governments has resulted in the initiation, completion and funding of numerous programs and projects. Her history with Councils of Governments and local municipalities also contributes to her success working with businesses and regional agencies on projects that need local participation and support.

Karyn specializes in community and government relations, project management, advocacy and legislative strategy, and public involvement. Her areas of focus have been transportation, planning, economic development, and training programs. She has also worked on several political campaigns at the local and state levels.
